Boyish Charm

Photos taken by Jessica Cen

One store that never fails to entice me is Forever 21. This entire outfit nearly from head to toe was all purchased there. I have always been on the hunt for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and the Gods have finally responded! There are usually 3 things that I am on the lookout for when it came to finding the right pair.

The first thing was the fit of the jeans. I wanted the right amount of slouchy as well as baggy. The second thing was the length of the jeans. I like to cuff my jeans, so when I tried these out and they cut off at the right length I was a little closer to finding myself a pair of boyfriend jeans! The third thing that's essential to me is the wash. I feel like the wash ties everything together. I usually gravitate towards the light distressed wash with a few rips so this was the perfect pair! I paired this with a moto jacket and I thought that it was a harmonious pairing! For some height I threw on these booties from Target.

Hope everyone is having a good end of the year!

Sunday, Sundate, Sundaze

Photos taken by Jessica Cen

It has been close to 3 months since I have updated this blog and so much has happened! Fall semester has definitely been a busy and stressful one but I am glad to be back home now.

The weather today was pretty warm compared to Buffalo's snowy weather. I spent my day catching up with my sister and ran errands to pick up some last minute gifts. I decided to have my sister take a few pictures before we headed back to the car so here it goes!

One thing I love about chilly weather is being able to layer. I bought this flannel from the men's section of H&M about a year ago, now and it has been a staple piece in my closet ever since. It is extremely easy to layer and the colors on the flannel compliment nicely with the greys/whites in my closet. Since I was just running a few errands I decided to keep everything simple. I threw on some leggings and pulled on these black boots that I have been obsessed with. And to top everything off I raided my sister's closet for this jean jacket!

Since I have a lot more free time now I hope to be updating this a lot more frequently so catch y'all in the next post!

On The Edge

Photos by Thomas Vo

Sorry for disappearing for over a month but here's a new post!

It is really rare for me to dress mainly in black but recently it's been something I lean towards. That as well as my unhealthy obsession with moto jackets. I recently got this one from Forever 21 and it is so versatile. I really like the subtile quilted shoulders and sleeves. The lapels on the jacket gives it a nice structure.  The weather in Buffalo has also been cooling down so it's the perfect time to layer pieces. I can't wait until fall is in full swing so I can incorporate more layers into my outfits.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week!

DRAPE AWAY

Photos taken by my lovely sister: Jessica Cen

This is the outfit that I have definitely outworn this summer. I like the slouchy-ness to the cardigan and how it drapes beautifully. The oatmeal color of the cardigan also complements my skin tone nicely. The cropped striped shirt goes well with many pieces I already have in my wardrobe and the material is so incredibly soft. I decided to wear my Levi denim shorts that I thrifted about a year ago. I love thrifting pieces that I can continue to wear for summers to come. What better way to complete this outfit than to pair it with two toned sandals? These sandals are so simple and I love the wide straps on it. Recently I have been in a dainty gold jewelry phase and picked up the Gold Moon Necklace from Brandy Melville. If I could compile an outfit that would sum up my summer, this would be it.

MONOCHROMATIC

Photos by Thomas Vo

There is nothing that I love more than a monochromatic outfit. I am a sucker for white clothes and it's something that I am naturally attracted to when I go shopping. For this outfit I decided to pair this origami skort with a textured white top. I'm really loving the zig zag hemline of the skort and it how it isn't your ordinary pair of black shorts. Simple and minimalistic pieces are so easy to style because it is so versatile. I love how the black and white gives this overall outfit a timeless look.

HIGHLOW EVERYBODY

 Photos by Thomas Vo

There's nothing better to wear on a warm summer day than this flowy high low skirt. This skirt has been sitting in my closet for awhile now and I finally found a good day to wear it! It is perfect for mindless dressing on a hot day like today! This skirt gives my wardrobe a pop of color as well as making my outfit a bit more unique. On a regular basis I usually gravitate towards a pair of shorts so I'm happy that I am mix matching different things.

BLAZER SITUATION

I can't believe that I have taken a hiatus on this blog for such a long time! It's already 2014!

So here I am starting my first fashion post of 2014. This is the first summer that I am spending in Buffalo, and the weather is definitely much cooler compared to NYC. Despite the cooler weather here that doesn't stop me from wearing these cute embroidered floral shorts. Recently I have been really obsessed with these cute shoes that I picked up from Pacsun. I love the cut outs and the low chunky heel, but the only downside is that I get such bad blisters from wearing them.

I have also been on the lookout for staple pieces for my wardrobe. This blazer was thrifted a few weeks back and I am totally loving the subtle bird print I get when I roll up the sleeves. I am a strong believer that the little things can complete an outfit.

Until next time!
