Yayoi Kusama: Give Me Love

This past week I went to visit the Give Me Love exhibit located in the heart of Chelsea. It was different than any gallery I have ever been to because unlike places where you couldn't touch the art pieces we were able to put stickers on an empty room that was once blank. Since I went a few weeks after the exhibit was opened to the public, many of the white was already covered with stickers! I personally really enjoyed how interactive this gallery was and it was definitely a worthwhile experience.

Channeling my inner artsy vibes by wearing a navy fedora from Forever 21. I love how versatile the piece is and how it can be easily paired with many items I already had in my closet. It was also a relatively chilly day so I paired a basic white v-neck from H&M with a pair of high waisted jeans from Pacsun. To tie it all together I wore my black moto jacket from Forever 21. It is a staple piece in my closet and I recommend everyone to have that go to jacket they can pair with anything!

Hope everyone had a great week!

May Recap

I spent the month of May finishing up classes and finals and now I am finally back in the city! I have been back for over 2 weeks now and I have crossed out quite a few places that I have wanted to try. As soon as I got back I tried Potatopia and Popbar located in the West Village. As a lover for fries Potatopia was just as tasty as I expected it to be. I spent the day wandering around West Village and somehow made my way to Chinatown!
I was also able to go to MoMA, my all time favorite museum! The last time I went was some time during my winter break so a lot has changed since I have last been there. The one thing that will never change will be my favorite corner out of the entire museum. The view is great and I love looking down at the garden outside of MoMA.
The next day, my best friend and I went to a restaurant that we have wanted to try for the longest time. Freemans is a very cute restaurant located in the Lower East Side. It's definitely a "hidden gem" as everyone likes to call it. It's hidden in a little alleyway, but you'll be surprised how pleasant the exterior looks.
I spent this past weekend at the American Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately the infamous whale exhibit was closed by the time we got there so I wasn't able to see it :( Nonetheless I still enjoyed my time at the museum! I was also able to capture the dark sky before it started to pour. After the museum we went to grab a bite at Shake Shack! Their burgers and fries never tasted so good after such a long day.
That's all for now! Until next time!

Bohemian Vibes

Photos by Jessica Cen

I am a huge sucker for lace, so when I saw this top I immediately knew I needed it. I love the ivory color and how it is only part lace. It is the perfect detail to spice up any outfit. I am always thinking about possible ways I can style pieces before I buy them so I can wear them more than once! I decided to pair it with these American Eagle olive jeggings which is one of my favorite go to colors for the colder months. I haven't worn these taupe Shoemint boots in a while and wearing it for the first time in ages made me remember what I loved about them. I love how comfy they are and since it is a neutral color it is easy to match the rest of the things in my wardrobe.

Hope everyone is staying warm in the cold weather!

Cozy Knits

Photos taken by Jessica Cen

One thing that I love is a good sale. I took advantage of the additional 50% off sale section at Urban Outfitters and scored this ivory knit sweater. Who can say no to sales and cozy knits?! I love simple outfits that I can easily put together without much thought. These ripped American Eagle jeans is perfect for a laid back Saturday outfit!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Coldest of the Cold

A few days ago I decided to roam around Chelsea on one of the coldest days of winter. It still surprises me how cold NYC can get in the winter despite experiencing the cold in Buffalo. The weather has been so cold that it demanded me to keep myself warm if I wanted to leave the house!

Some of my favorites of 2014 are making a reappearance in this outfit. This coat from H&M has been a staple of mine all winter. Don't judge how thin it may seem, but it actually keeps me pretty warm. The jacket is a little big on me, so it's a plus for layering! I have never been a beanie/hats type of person but this grey beanie I picked up from F21 has been something I never leave the house without. Last but not least these booties from Target has been the perfect pair of shoes for so many outfits this past year. The heel is the perfect for everyday wear and it gives me a little height as well!

Hope everyone has had a great start to the new year so far & cheers to another year filled with good vibes and adventures!

Boyish Charm

Photos taken by Jessica Cen

One store that never fails to entice me is Forever 21. This entire outfit nearly from head to toe was all purchased there. I have always been on the hunt for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and the Gods have finally responded! There are usually 3 things that I am on the lookout for when it came to finding the right pair.

The first thing was the fit of the jeans. I wanted the right amount of slouchy as well as baggy. The second thing was the length of the jeans. I like to cuff my jeans, so when I tried these out and they cut off at the right length I was a little closer to finding myself a pair of boyfriend jeans! The third thing that's essential to me is the wash. I feel like the wash ties everything together. I usually gravitate towards the light distressed wash with a few rips so this was the perfect pair! I paired this with a moto jacket and I thought that it was a harmonious pairing! For some height I threw on these booties from Target.

Hope everyone is having a good end of the year!

Sunday, Sundate, Sundaze

Photos taken by Jessica Cen

It has been close to 3 months since I have updated this blog and so much has happened! Fall semester has definitely been a busy and stressful one but I am glad to be back home now.

The weather today was pretty warm compared to Buffalo's snowy weather. I spent my day catching up with my sister and ran errands to pick up some last minute gifts. I decided to have my sister take a few pictures before we headed back to the car so here it goes!

One thing I love about chilly weather is being able to layer. I bought this flannel from the men's section of H&M about a year ago, now and it has been a staple piece in my closet ever since. It is extremely easy to layer and the colors on the flannel compliment nicely with the greys/whites in my closet. Since I was just running a few errands I decided to keep everything simple. I threw on some leggings and pulled on these black boots that I have been obsessed with. And to top everything off I raided my sister's closet for this jean jacket!

Since I have a lot more free time now I hope to be updating this a lot more frequently so catch y'all in the next post!
